Baby Stewart is on the Way!

So this weekend I had the honor of hosting a baby shower for my super pregnant even more super adorable cousin Emily. We are all so excited to meet the newest little girl in the next month or so. I had such a great time prepping and planning and hosting this shower. I hope Emily enjoyed it half as much as I did. :)
For this shower I tried my hand at a few crafting project. The hubs was out of town for a few weeks and it gave me a LOT of time to do some crafting.
The first project was a wreath for the front door. I have done a diaper cake and I have seen even more adorable decorating ideas using diaper, but I decided that I would try my hand using diapers for the front door wreath. I wasn't very sure where to get started, so I just went with a package of diaper and some tulle and got going....

Emily's favorite color is purple, so there was a LOT of purple! We had a calendar for the guests to make their predictions of when they thought baby stewart would arrive.

One of the games we played was "The Price Is Right". The items included things for the new mommy to be, bathtime for baby, day to day operations for baby, and feeding time.

The next craft project I played with was a purple butterfly mobile. With the use of some tulle, a cricut machine (thanks Dr. Wells), and some string, I finally got the mobile done! I think the hardest part of was transporting it to town without getting all the stings mixed up.

Emily's aunts offered to do the food for the shower, and they did not disappoint. It was a beautiful spread of delicious food!

I ordered some paper flowers off of Esty. They were a perfect touch of color and I love that paper flowers last FOREVER! The hubs helped glue stems on some of the flowers so that I could put them in vases, others I just put scattered on tables, etc.
Want some paper flowers? Check out http://www.etsy.com/shop/lillesyster for flower needs. They paper flowers are beautifully made!

For party favors, I ordered some cookies from Etsy and then bagged them. I topped the bags with a purple onesies that said "thank you". We have bought these cookies for another baby shower and they were such a great hit, I decided to use them again.
Check out http://www.etsy.com/shop/sugarandflour for you cookie needs! They are so yummy!

So I tried my hand at a baby tutu and it got a little out of control. This is a total tulle fest! So maybe next time only one round of tulle will be used! :)

We had a great turn out for the shower. I hope everyone had a great time. I also created a pennant banner with the alphabet. It worked out great over the back windows.

I dont think Nanny enjoyed looking/smelling each diaper.
