Oh Baby....

So while I haven't felt like we have been up to much while I sat down to think about writing this blog I realize that maybe we have been up to more than I thought....
Last week Eileen, Cam, and Bentley came to visit! It was so much fun.... It was really great to have someone to spend the day with and having some major "girl time" was really great too! I miss my MSU friends!

This is a picture of Amelia, Eileen, and myself with baby Cam before Chris and I left Starkville...

Chris took the time during their visit to do some experiments....He is such a nerd
(but I love him so much)
Here is a picture of Chris measuring Cam's natural frequency....because that is something that all parents should know about their child.

But we did let Cam play by himself too!
Isn't this child just gorgeous! He is going to be a heart breaker!!!

Eileen and I also got to run errands and just get out of the apartment some too! During one of our errands we went out for lunch. Cam was super excited because he got to try PICKLES!!!! (something me and his aunt Amelia LOVE)
I am sure he loved them more than this picture depicts!

On one of our errands we even got Eileen a wedding dress!!! YAY for perfect, beautiful wedding dresses! Lets just say she looks STUNNING and I can't wait to see her in it in October!!!! I was so excited that I got to be with her when she found it!!! So we celebrated!

There were a lot of things that we did and like I said before just having some much needed girl time was really great!
Opus even got to play in the Johnny Jump Jump.

So also during that week Chris got a birthday present which he really likes! Thanks Calvin Walker for the great gift idea! He was able to completely "nerd" out last week with his experiments and his RC Helicopter!

Christopher and I also started Firm Body Bootcamp last week. This week is our second week and we like it so much we decided to go ahead and sign up for a year. Its pretty intense....to the extent that after our first workout my muscles hurt so bad I didnt think I could move. This week I am feeling much better...muscles are still sore but the recovery is much quicker now.

Tonight we got to have dinner with some friends of ours here in Huntsville. I cant believe it has been soooooo long since I saw any of them in person, but less the entire group! Chris and I had a great time at dinner and are looking forward to doing this again soon!!!

Here's a picture of the group: Esther, Kristen, Stephen, Brian, Elaine,Chris, and me!
Good Looking Bunch huh?

Well other "news worthy" things going on....
Chris and I are still on the church home search, but we have one that we are strongly pursuing right now. Sunday we are going to "meet the church" thing to learn some more info and meet the pastors and such. We know there is a church for us, we are just praying for guidance to that church....More to come on this topic....

Matthew (chris' brother) is coming to visit this weekend! We havent seen him in a while so we are both really excited about his visit!!!!

So exciting news I heard today.......Hanson is coming to Huntsville. To say that I am excited is an understatement...I am still waiting for confirmation, and I am a bit concerned about the size of the venue, but if they are coming I WILL BE SOOOOO EXCITED!!! Oh how I love Hanson!!! Thankfully I married a man that is willing to put up with my love for this band :)

Check out their new music video below. Also they will be on Jay Leno tomorrow night and on Saturday VH1's Top 20 Countdown is going to be showing their new music video!

Also you should check out this video....its one of my favorites!

Speaking of Hanson always reminds me of my dear friend Holly! Thinking of Holly also reminds me that yesterday I also got to see two other friends of mine in the Huntsville area. I met both of these girls through Holly and trust me she has some great taste in friends :)
I got to go bridesmaid dress "trying on" with Adrienne and we LOVE the bridesmaid dresses Holly has picked out! They are so stinking cute! It was great to see Adrienne again it has been way too long since I have seen her!
Then last night Katie joined us at bootcamp. I love Katie....she just makes my week! What special girls Adrienne and Katie are! So thankful that Holly introduced me to such great people!!!! I hope to see all of them again very very soon!!!!

Okay well its my bedtime so I am off! Hope everyone is doing great and I hope you throughly enjoy the Hanson videos :)

Happy Birthday to the Hubby!

Birthday Boy!

So as many of you know yesterday was the hubby's birthday! Sadly we live in the real world and he had to go to work...but no worries I sent him off to work with some yummy devils food cake cupcakes iced with rainbow chip icing (his choice) :) I attempted to make this super yummy looking brownie cupcakes with a recipe by martha stewart.....they were AWFUL tasting so we had to throw them out and went with our second option cupcakes of Christopher's choosing.

Yesterday morning I got up and made Christopher breakfast: Turkey Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, and made from scratch biscuits. I found this recipe for biscuits using heavy whipping cream (yeah I know real healthy) and these biscuits are delicious! I had made them once before and Chris asked for them specifically for his bday breakfast! Yum.

Opus also made sure that Christopher got to open his birthday present at breakfast....It was nothing too exciting (I know I'm lame)..but he needed a new belt so a new belt he got! and some chocolates.

But no worries his main bday gift was coming....I was attempting to cook filet mignon and lobster for dinner!!!!
Well I (we) decided against the live lobster for dinner.....1st I couldnt find my large stock pot....2nd I didnt think walking back from Kroger with 2 live lobsters crawling around and trying to get out of my bag would be very good for me....3rd Kroger had some very lovely fresh lobster tails that would do the job just fine...4th I wasn't quite ready to tackle that big feat....maybe next year!

So the dinner menu was a hit with Christopher....

Surf (Lobsters)

Turf (Steaks)

Baked Potatoes

Roasted Green Beans, Red Peppers, and Onions

Once I got all of that in the oven (which was a tight squeeze once I added the crescent rolls) the next thing I had to get was the table set...Now I do not know how to properly set a table, and while I am sure it is something I should learn, and I know I could look it up online I just decided I wanted to set it the way that seemed most natural for Chris and I...because it was just the two of us using the table setting....

Chris likes minature things (cornish hens, one egg skilets, etc) I am not sure why but he always gets a kick out of them so I made sure he had the smallest "fork" that we had.....he was really excited when he saw it!
The table is set.

And I tried to be cute and make little hearts as our butter.....This is much more difficult than I expected.....

Bringing in the main course!

Dinner Time!

DESSERT ALERT!
Hand Dipped Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

Well that was our Valentine's Day! It was super yummy and it was so great to have a dinner like that with the hubby without having to go out to a restaurant. Great conversation and pretty yummy food (if I can say so).

So now I am at the house waiting for our guests of the week to get into town!!! YAY for Eileen, Cam, and Bentley coming to visit!!!! I am sure there will be plenty of pictures of Cam on the next blog. He is just so adorable!
We are so thankful for the great friends we have in our lives! We have truly been blessed by our friends!
Well I am off to finish getting the apartment ready for our new guests!!! Hope everyone had a great valentines day!

Lately

Well its been a while since I blogged....Not sure I just wasn't into it I guess...
So whats been going on with us?

Hmmm... well the wonderful Amelia Treptow came to visit with us for a weekend. I have really missed many of our friends that we left in Starkville, and Amelia is definitely one of the most missed. As many of you know Amelia took our GORGEOUS wedding pictures (yes I know I am biased). We didn't do too much of anything except drive around Huntsville to shop. We spent ALL day Saturday doing so, but it was mostly just having some much needed "girl-talk" time.
Here are some pictures from her trip. Unfortunately I didn't take any till Saturday night and then Sunday before she left :( I did not do well on my photo-taking skills.

Here's a picture of Amelia and Christopher trying out olives that we got from the olive bar at Kroger.

Here's one of my and Amelia before she left for the weekend.....

And one of Amelia and Christopher....
We hope she comes to visit again very very soon! Although I guess it is time for us to make a trip back to Starkville!

So next week we get more fun guests to come visit!!! YAY for having friends! Next week we get to have the fabulous Eileen with sweet little growing man Cam and the wonderful Bentley! Chris, Opus and I are very very excited! Hopefully I will get more pictures from their trip and get to post some of our fun times!!

This past weekend we went to Memphis. It was really good to see our family, although we wish we were able to spend some more time with them. We will have to plan a trip there again soon too!

So on Monday we get to celebrate Christopher's birthday. :) We have decided to stay in for dinner since it being Valentine's Day and all the restaurants are pretty packed. With that being said I am attempting to cook lobster for the first time....... Chris really wants me to get live lobsters and cook them in a pot of boiling water...I just dont know if I can handle hearing the screaming so we will see....I will probably just chicken out and buy some lobster tails or something.....I will keep you posted on those dinner plans.....
I also have to make some type of dessert for Chris to take to work that Monday. I found a really cute recipe for brownie cupcakes with buttercream frosting and little heart shaped brownies for a topping.....Hopefully they will turn out tasty too :)

Well since it is so icy outside my lovely hubby got to stay home from work! It was a great surprise this morning! He woke up early (as usual) but then decided he would snooze for another hour or so.....which was fantastic! Then he did try to make it into work but he didnt even make it a quarter mile before watching a car struggle very much up the hill on the ice and decided he would come hang out with me till later in the morning so that hopefully the roads would clear up some. Well after being home for about 30 minutes he got a phone call letting him know that they were going close up for the day and that he had the day off :) I am so glad I get to spend the WHOLE day with him.....so with that I am off to cook some lunch with my lovely hubby!

Well hopefully I will update again soon! :)
